From the moment we arrived and were greeting by a warm handshake, to the time we sadly had to go home, we loved our stay at Parco San Marco. You can either stay in the hotel itself, or as we did in the self-catering Residenza San Marco. Staying in the Residenza San Marco means that you only have limited access to the hotel's excellent spa facilites - you can only use the outdoor pool and the lakeside beach. But if you do want to use the fun pools or the spa then you can buy a daily pass. Expensive, but worth it if you really do use all the facilities on offer. We had a 1 bedroomed apartment with a balcony overlooking Lake Lugano in the Residenza San Marco. The apartment was perfectly spacious for two adults and 2 pre-schoolers. The kitchen was basic and not really equiped for complicated cuisine but adequate for making simple pasta dishes, which was as much as we wanted to do. We could of course use the hotel restaurants. Porlezza itself is a couple of kilometers down the road and is pleasant enough but not terribly exciting. But the drive over to Mennagio on Lake Como takes on 20 min and we made several easy trips. Would certainly recommend Parco San Marco to anyone and would happily go back tomorrow!

In dem grossen, mediterranen Park am Hang sind die Häuser von drei Hotels verteilt. Wir nutzten davon die preiswerte Residenza und haben nur das sehr ergiebige Frühstück als Buffet dazu gebucht. Mit dem sonnigen Herbst-Wetter hatten wir Glück - ideal für unsere Wanderungen und den Stadtausflug nach Como. Die Unterkunft hat sehr viel Platz (wie Ferienwohnung) und einen Balkon in Richtung Luganer See. Alles war sehr gepflegt und die Menschen im Service sind sehr herzlich.

stunning location in a lovely quiet part of lake lugano. easy to drive over border to Lugano or surrounds, as well as over to Lake Como and various beautiful villages. We were a bit confused not realising we had booked the residenza rather than hotel. the price was good until we arrived and realised that everything was extra - 10 euros a day adds up quickly when you are staying 10 days! and access to the pools was only allowed on days we paid the extra 50 euros. i'm not sure how much extra it would have cost to buy the hotel room rather than this apartment, but may be worth exploring if you are likely to want to use the facilities. Still unsure whether this represented ok value - as in, on some days we didnt use it so the apartment was very good value, but the 50 euros flat rate does seem huge if we only wanted to use an hour a day. the apartments are very well sized for a family of 4, with lovely outlook over the lake. Lack of wifi reception extremely annoying and was the worst aspect of the stay. As I am doing an online course, as well as keeping up with other correspondence, I ended up spending many evenings up at reception where I could get online as it was not possible in the room. they offer a stick to connect in the rooms but don't mention it wont work with macs. then offer a laptop to borrow - but only at reception so still not solving anything. even where the hotspots are (reception, beach, kids pool) you have to repeatedly log in every few minutes which is painful, they really should work on improving this to make it feel more of a holiday than a pain. Still, gorgeous place that I would very much recommend.

Sehr herzliche Atmosphäre von Anfang an. Aufmerksames Personal und nette Gäste. Weiträumig am Hang verteilte Häuser mit jeweils einigen Zimmer oder Suiten. Dazwischen ist ein Park mit großer Vielfalt an Pflanzen. Darin ist auch das Viersterne Superior Hotel, dessen Rezeption und Gastronomie mit genutzt wird. Das ausgiebig vielfältig befüllte Frühstücksbuffet ist für die preiswerten Residenza Zimmer extra zu bestellen, lohnt sich aber! Das war eine Woche mit Erholungswert, weil die wundervolle Landschaft an den beiden Seen (Lugano und Como) und der Privatstrand und der Relaxpool für alle Gäste gleichermassen nutzbar sind.

Sinds 1995 komen wij jaarlijks in Lugano. Al verschillende accomodaties geprobeerd. Nu met ons bezoek aan Residenza San Marco denken wij het gevonden te hebben. Mooi centraal gelegen voor tochten in Ticino, Lago di Como, Valtellina, en Graubunden. De residenza  maakt deel uit van Parco San Marco een Resort aan Lago di Lugano. Wij verbleven in een appartement dat direct uitzicht bood op het meer. Een goed ingerichte kamer, slaapkamer, badkamer, kleine keuken en ruim terras. Het heeft ons tijdens het verblijf aan niets ontbroken. Een minpuntje, maar niet van betekenis was dat de dagkaart voor de Wellness, waarin het overdekte zwembad is € 50,00 bedraagt en dit een goede prijs is voor degene die van alle faciliteiten gebruik maken, maar niet voor degene die alleen gaan zwemmen, daarvoor is de prijs te hoog. Het mooie buitenzwembad is trouwens gratis. Erg leuk en goed georganiseerd was de Dievole wijnproeverij in de Grotto.  Prima wijnen, waar we al kennis mee hebben gemaakt in Toscane. De proeverij beveel ik zeker aan! De eigenaar van het wijngoed in Toscane is ook de eigenaar van het Resort. Opvallend was de perfecte persoonlijke service en aandacht, je bent er geen nummer.||Verder hebben wij van de prachtige tuin genoten met een perfecte plantomschrijving. Ook het mooi aangelegde strand aan het meer is een aanrader. Wij hebben alleen in La Masseria gegeten, ook dat was prima. De andere restaurants hopen wij een volgende keer te proberen. Voor de 6e maal hebben we dit hotel bezocht. Ook nu weer een compliment voor de accommodatie en de mogelijkheden die dit resort biedt. Prachtige zwembaden, een mooi gelegen ligweide aan het meer, bootverhuur, verschillende restaurants en op loopafstand van Porlezza. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk en weet wat service is. Wij kunnen dit resort van harte aanbevelen en hopen hier komend jaar weer van onze vakantie te genieten.

Inmiddels zijn we al weer voor het vierde jaar op rij op Parco San Marco geweest en hebben gebruik gemaakt van een appartement in de Residenza. Het verblijf hier is heerlijk. Er zijn verschillende faciliteiten zoals zwembaden, waterfietsen, motorboot, wellness, diverse restaurants. Kortom hier is alles aanwezig om een aangenaam verblijf te hebben. De ligging tussen Lugano en Porlezza / Menaggio is ook perfect voor uitstapjes. De service is perfect, de mensen staan direct voor je klaar. Wij kijken alweer uit naar volgend jaar.

My family and I stayed 4 nights at the Parco San Marco Residenza, when we booked the stay at hotels.com we thought we were checking in a the 5 star Parco San Marco Lifestyle Beach Resort. Unfortunately this turned out not to be the case, which became very apparent when we checked in at the reception.||||Here we found out that the Parco San Marco Residenza, are apparently holiday Apartments connected to the Parco San Marco Lifestyle Beach Resort.||||This was a huge surprise to us, so instead of checking in at a five star hotel we checked in to a nice and clean apartment on the hotel grounds. ||This was however situated near to a very nosy road that made is sound like we had the “autostrade” in the living room. Also the apartment was with out air-condition making it very hard to sleep with temperatures near 40 degrees. (not something you would expect at a five star hotel?)||The cleaning of these apartments were apparently the very last ones on the cleaning personals list, the 4 nights we were there the apartments had never been cleaned by 15 pm it only happened later.||||None of this was clear in the advertisement on Hotels.com disappointing us deeply. ||||Another disappointing thing you should be aware of before checking in to Residenza is that EVERYTHING IS EXTERA:||||If you want to use the children’s pool (nice if you like us bring your kids) it is 50 euros extra per day. Parking is 10 euros per day, use of the kitchen in the apartment is 60 euros. Breakfast is definitely not included when you are staying at the Residenza (it is 56 euros per day for two adults and two kids). ||||My suggestion to the hotel management is to stop using this unfair price strategy that makes the final price totally non-transparent. Put the real price on the price tag.||||One thing that I cannot complain about is the excellent service we got from the personal and management, they took our complains seriously and were very kind to us. However this does not change the fact that the advertisement on hotels.com did not live up to our expectations.||||Andreas
