I’ve had my eye on this place for a while since I live around Holland Village, and I was excited to finally try it. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations.

The food was just okay—nothing particularly memorable.

I ordered the A4 Wagyu medium rare, but it arrived medium. When I pointed it out, the chef insisted that’s how A4 Wagyu medium rare looks, which was disappointing. That said, they did replace it, and the second serving was cooked perfectly, so I appreciate the effort to make things right. However, the 20–30 minute wait time was quite long, making the overall experience less enjoyable.

While I respect their service recovery, I’m sure this will be my first and the last time here. 🥲

Hit and miss but overall a great place to dine in. We had the initial impression it will be very expensive but turns out it wasn’t overly exorbitant.

We ordered a couple of skewers and main. I really like my truffle chicken omu rice. The pork jowl rice was ok too. The chicken ramen was abit smaller than expected. The broth was good, the noodles were good but it didn’t taste like the usual ramen… more like Taiwanese Jade noodle. It’s still ok too.

Being part of sushi tei group, the salmon sashimi wasn’t too shabby. In fact it was a good thick cut and I was pleasantly surprised it came with egg roe! Yum!

The gyutan was very tender and nice but was very thickly sliced. The chicken skewers were ok too. The only let down was the scallop. Kind of overcooked, lacking natural sweetness. Think sushi tei doesn’t have very good scallop supplier because I have the same dislike for their hotate sashimi too at the sushi branch.

The free salmon belly was good.

Overall, if you feel like pampering yourself in a nicer environment, this place is a good choice, provided you are not starving. Table service is very nice & attentive but kitchen is slower prob due to the grilling part that takes time which is understandable. So come here with patience to wait and not expect instantaneous food service. It’s not fast food joint.

Overall only a 2 star place. Not visiting again.

Ambience : Quite nicely decorated interior that gives a rather upscale feel. But, rating from the quality of the food, this place is far from upscale LOL.

Food : Not good at all. There is nothing special. Very mediocre food. Small menu.
The grilled squid was rather tasteless and not grilled enough. The skewers were worse. Totally not enough fire. The only dish I liked was their chawanmushi LOL. For this quality of food, I consider them very pricey.

Drink : Very small selection of Japanese Sake (Nihonshu). Most were not fresh either. I almost could not find a bottle to go with my dinner. I expect a lot more from a Japanese restaurant like this one that market itself as an upscale restaurant. If Google has a rating for Drink, I will give this restaurant only 1 star.

Service : This is the only saving grace for this restaurant. Service is good. Attentive and polite staff.

Went to experience the One Holland new mall. Passed by this restaurant while hunting restaurant for our dinner and we decided to settle on this.
As this restaurant got no queue, we went ahead with this. Restaurant setting was good, ambient was fine.
The food, however, based on so many varieties we’ve ordered, only 50% of them can make it. While the rest were either too salty to our taste and some were too charred from the grill and that chef do not bother to remove the charred parts. Services not to the standard, just average.
I think they should improve on services and food quality further to match the price they are charging for.

Went there to celebrate my bday. The dishes we ordered were all pretty good, my fav being the cold udon noodles ($16) and chawanmushi ($9). However, it's definitely on the pricier side as the portions were small. It's owned by sushi tei group so you can use your membership card here.

Japanese restaurant focusing on grilled food over binchotan. A higher end establishment under the Sushi Tei group. Food was delicious and well cooked. Price wise, have to accept that paying for quality rather than quantity. Service was attentive. Good selection of sake and wines.

Celebrated my friend’s birthday. I called to check if the restaurant provides any cake they said they do but we were caught by surprise that they even brought out LED birthday signs. The restaurant is one of Sushi Tei chain. Corkage is free. We had a memorable celebration. We ate in a weekend, the place was quite packed.

Sadly, I think the yakitori was a tad salty which kinda destroyed the meat.

Even the bone marrow was

Price wise $215 for 2 pax with no alcohol. For the quality, think can go elsewhere better,

Service staff were friendly and attentive. Lucky for the restaurant if not maybe 2 stars.
