I recently went to book a holiday online with Club Med for their Bintan resort. After spending some time investigating the various dates I proceeded to book. At that point the online system would not accept my passport number. I rang their help line and it took an hour to get a representative, the advice I received did not work.
I also emailed their customer service and they took 2 days to respond. By the time I figured out the solution myself (place an asterix after the passport number) the price had gone up considerably (15%). I still made the booking but my initial impression of Club Med online booking and customer service was very poor. I've used them in the past in Europe and enjoyed the holiday there - if not I certainly would have moved on.

Update post holiday: the experience of the holiday mitigated the initial poor customer service. The resort in Bintan was totally fab and the staff could not have been better. Really well run resort, clean comfortable rooms with a great choice of quality food and drinks. The kids loved it and I'd do it again. All the staff work incredibly hard and are cheerful throughout. It's a real shame they're let down by the booking experience. Please work on this!
Special shout out to Udin and team at the port who helped recover a lost iPad. Great job guys.

A shout out with lots of love to Club Med Bintan G.O. Team!!! All of you have made the trip a fantastic and wonderful experience to remember. Attentive service with hellos everywhere! From reception, housekeeping, F&B, performances to seasports. We were dined and wined, and wooed with your fabulous company! The charismatic Brendan who was amazing host! Special thanks to Sam, Hakim, Da, Putu, Iswan, Novia, Iman for making us their specialty drinks, keep us company & making every night a fun night for us. You are the best!

Website not working probably. Call many times leave number , waited super long nobody answer your call or reply. Not sure they are already bankrupt. Anybody know if club Med still operating?

Made multiple calls and no solution. Then they told me to email in. Eventually emailed in 3 times and no response. Not sure if Club Med in Singapore is a scam?

Club Med might be a nice holiday destination etc., but first, you need to get past the worst-ever horrible Customer Service. In fact, it is non-existent at all.

There is clearly no recourse once you have made a booking with Club Med. If wasting your time, feeling helpless and frustrated at the end, even before your vacation starts is your thing, best of luck!

I have scoured online how to get to someone from Club Med Singapore, no luck. Just pray you need not reach anyone after your booking is done - else your nightmare has just begun.

Booked a clubmed vacation to Bintan with my family on 10 April 23. The club med website had an error and the amount was paid double. Request for cancellation and payment back on the immediately on the same day, customer service says it is in process.

Email back and forth, do not want to give me a date of refund and vaguely told me refund takes up to three months. Response is slow, no upper management to communicate the situation.

Was suppose to return my amount with a receipt today, yet not honoring their word. Right now 9June 23, still waiting for my refund of $2XXX. Called again today, and still unable to tell me when in June the refund will be made.

Highly not recommended, lousy customer support and don’t understand why the company would keep the money that is not theirs for so long when the problem occurred from their own portal 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

I can't believe that they are charging me Sgd 1000 for cancellation of 60 days and more in advance. I'm partly to blame for not reading the terms and conditions carefully. However, I was hoping that early cancellation will give club med a reason to waive the cancellation penalty since they have ample time to sell the room. Therefore, I hope everyone to be careful when booking with club med.

I have booked for a holiday in Bali paid a deposit, no emails? no news...but my credit card clear the amount. I tried emailing Bali and tried calling singapore. the responds is very poor. what a start before the holiday. its been 1 month and bali says it's Sg to handle and sg has not replied... big organiaztion with no customer service? Will wait for another week if noting I need to visit their office to talk to the person in charge!
